Today’s verse

“Immediately the father of the child cried out with tears, “I believe. Help my unbelief!”

A quiet reflection

Imperfect faith can honestly ask Jesus for help rather than pretending to be strong.

The father brought both belief and unbelief into the presence of Christ. Jesus is not threatened by honest weakness. Faith grows by looking away from its own adequacy and toward the One it trusts.
